Lyman Holmes
Judge of Probate
Judge Holmes graduated from the University of Maine with a B.A. in History in 1971. He went on to the Vanderbilt School of Law, where he obtained his law degree in 1975.
Judge Holmes returned to Washington County after college and went into private practice. He served as President of the Washington County Bar Association, Maine Probate Judges Assembly, and also and also as President of the Porter Memorial Library in Machias.
Judge Holmes is also actively involved in the Washington County Archives Committee as its Vice-Chairman. The Archives Committee is dedicated to the restoration of our county’s most important historical documents dating back to colonial times.
